Tell us about your experience at Carroll. What are your interests and activities...
As a freshman, being in a new environment was intimidating, but the teachers helped me adjust to the new experiences of high school. They also helped me advance in my classes. As a sophomore, I am now a pre-IB student at Carroll preparing to take rigorous courses in the newly implemented International Baccalaureate program. Last year, I participated in the choir and baseball. This year, I play the trumpet in the band and also play baseball.
What does Catholic education mean to you?
To me, it is a higher standard of education that helps to improve the knowledge of students through a curriculum that emphasizes the importance of knowing God through education.
What are your dreams and goals for after high school?
I plan to go to college and major in the field of engineering.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family.
I attended Dupont Park Seventh Day Adventist School before attending Carroll. I have one sister and was raised by my mother and my grandparents. I am active in my church where I assist the Audio-Visual department and also volunteer through a church program for 6th graders and younger.
What does it mean to you to be a Shepherd Scholar?
Being a Shepherd Scholar means that I have to maintain a standard of excellence. It is a privilege to have the Shepherd Foundation assist my family with my tuition because it means people have invested money in my education to help me succeed. I know other students may not have this same opportunity, so I am grateful to be a Shepherd Scholar.
